Phebie Zaky has been licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC 50403) for nearly ten years. She earned both her Master’s in Arts in Psychology and a Master’s in Arts with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University’s Graduate School of Education and Psychology (GSEP She is trained at the supervisory level in the following evidenced-based treatment modalities: TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy); Seeking Safety; and Ind-CBT (Individual Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy). What's more, she has been the Clinical Supervisor for several different children's and adolescents' outpatient clinics for over six years, where she had the privilege of supervising and training nearly 50 unlicensed clinicians. Paired with her culturally-centered approach to CBT, she also integrates approaches in humanistic, psychodynamic, and positive psychology. In addition to trauma, she also has extensive work with anxiety, depression, and serious mental illness. Of the areas she identified for expertise, she named CBT, culturally-responsive treatments, evidenced-based practices (EBPs), and working with children and adolescents.Phebie’s approach to treatment with individuals is collaborative. She believes in cultivating a space that is warm, judgment-free, and resilient-driven. Together, the goal will be to identify pragmatic solutions that fit with one’s lifestyle, values, and voice.
